Masa of Echo Park, along with other Los Angeles restaurants and businesses, is once again participating in Go Eat Go Drink Go Out, a one-day event that raises funds to provide direct and vital support to those impoverished and disabled by HIV/AIDS in our community. This is the fifth year Masa has participated!

On Thursday, February 24 all participating Los Angeles restaurants will donate a portion of their days’s receipts to Aid for AIDs and The Sierra Project. 50% of Masa’s sales that day will be donated.

Please stop by and make a difference!

A birthday celebration from a couple of years ago

It seems like yesterday we had just moved into the neighborhood and Masa had just opened its doors. It’s already be six whole years, and a lot of great stuff has happened: They serve awesome beer and wine, are very involved in the community, and recently introduced vegan pizza options to the menu. Happy birthday Masa!

As part of their traditional celebration, stop by Masa and grab a piece of Devil’s food cake with buttercream frosting tomorrow (Saturday, August 28)!

Masa is located at 1800 W. Sunset Blvd.

Everyone goes crazy over Masa’s Chicago-style deep dish pizza, especially when the Cubs come into town and the favorite dish comes half off. Now vegans have more opportunities to join in on the fun – Masa has added an animal-free version of the pizza to its menu.

Chicago Soy Dairy supplies the vegan cheese called “Teese Soy Cheese,” and Masa uses olive oil instead of butter on the crust. Vegan blogger extraordinaire Quarry Girl has all the great details and a rave review of the new menu item.

Masa is located at 1800 W. Sunset Blvd.

We just had dinner at Masa tonight and realized that whenever the Cubs play at Dodger Stadium, Masa has some incredible specials on Chicago deep dish pizzas.

During the game only, Chicago Deep Dish Pizzas are half off (dine in or take out). This series is a four-game series starting tonight, July 8, and goes through Sunday, July 11.

You can usually watch the Dodger games at the restaurant – but only when the games are on KCAL9, a broadcast channel available at Masa (tonight was an exception as the game was on Prime Ticket). We were assured by our always awesome server that Saturday and Sunday, the games will be on at Masa.

Click here for the Dodger schedule and times on our Dodger Calendar page.

This is post number 2 of my Echo Park menu series!
